By CNLohr | We have moved off of our old server into a dedicated on-campus UMBC server. It is unlikely we will run into any major issues requiring as long as this last thing took to resolve again.
We are not totally sure this new server will be a perfect fit, however we'll know in the coming weeks. If all goes well, we may be sticking with it. The server may be shared with the UMBC Game Developer's Club.
We don't have the game server running yet, but it should be up by later tonight.
*EDIT* I am having trouble getting the stats portion of the server working. We may have to wait till tomorrow for Josh to work his magic.
*EDIT 2* I will be bringing the TEST server online now on the main port. It will be using the test stats database. I will not be making it the main server until Josh blesses it. So, don't expect your stats to get saved.
*EDIT 3* I'm having considerable trouble keeping the test server stable. I am unsure if I will be able to get it going tonight.
*EDIT 4* The game servers are up. Hopefully they will be stable. --Axle
*EDIT 5* We're having a hard time keeping the old server running at the moment. The new server looks like it's running.
*EDIT 6* I'm brining both servers online inside of debuggers and when they crash I can hopefully get some good info on where and how they failed so we can either 1: get the new server working better, or 2: keep the old server from crashing.
*EDIT 7* Email is not working on the new server. I have temporarily disabled the need to have email verification. You may re-create a new account now and it will be activated automatically. If you really want the name you have registered to work, then you may contact me privately in order to have it activated.
*EDIT 8* It appears that stats are now working on the primary server! Also, stats are being recorded on the test server. I will contact axle about his place with that. |

It is a slow work in progress, but it is at least showing previous rounds. More statistic functionality to come in my spare time. A note on TIMING, timing appears broken on the new server. I will try to fix it in the coming week. |

By Izzy | The new game server is up for testing. The game server has been completely reworked. It should act identical to the previous game server for now, and new features will come in the future once this is working perfectly.
All stats will be logged for now, but they cannot be viewed. They also wont be kept forever. If you find any errors while trying to play, please mention them here. This new coding is only experimental so it isn't perfected yet.
Connect to "smonline.us:8800"
Remember to report here if anything goes wrong.
Edit: You can still connect to "smonline.us" You don't have to use the test server. |
